Snow Day

HOoray it finally SNOWED! The kidddos have been LOVING every minute they get to spend out in the snow. I have really been trying to get out there as much as possible since they may not see snow again for another 4 years. They have been begging me to take them sledding, but considering I can not find snow boots to fit Hieselts chubby feet, I have been putting the 2 bigger kids off. Playing in the front yard close to home with nothing but socks and slippers on is one thing but, away from home plopped in a big mound of snow is another story. Not taking them sledding had NOTHING to do with the fact that I was not real keen on taking 3 kids under the age of 6 sledding all by myself. The day finally came when dad was home Hieselt was sleeping, and therefore would not want to take part in the festivities and there was still snow on the ground. Out went Dad, KB, Buster, and the two laundry baskets we were make shifting as sleds. The kids went had a blast came home basked in their mound of marsh mellows with a little bit of hot chocolate and told me about their FABULOUS sledding experience. I wish I had a video or even a picture but, Swifty was not to keen on taking out two kids under the age of 6 AND a camera sledding by himself (he probably wouldn't have been too keen on taking just one kid AND a camera, but three kids and NO camera would have been his preference). So I am with my kids all day and have probably missed one of the funniest activities this year. I so should of gone! The snow was slushy which helped the baskets to flip quite easily I guess my kids had a blast flipping out of their baskets and then rolling down the wet slushy hill. I think they also had fun being dragged through the wet slushy snow by a basket they forgot to let go of. Those Crazy kids! I may not have pictures of their most hilarious event of the year but I do have some of them in the snow....

Laundry baskets for sleds...what a great idea! You are so creative! Have you ever been to a tubing hill? We went to the one at Soldier Hollow. It was so much fun. You guys should try it next time you are in town in the winter.
